Building 777
Natural Meeting Place: Enabling Mobility and Promoting Collaboration
CERN is constructing its new Building 777 (B777) on the Prévessin campus, at the edge of a dense forest. Scheduled for delivery in Q4 2027, this timber structure will bring together modern offices, a restaurant, laboratories, and more than 500 working stations.
Designed to foster collaboration, community, and well-being, B777 embodies CERN’s commitment to sustainable, low-carbon design.
Building 140
Positioned prominently at the heart of CERN’s Meyrin site, Building 140 will become a central building gathering several of CERN’s key activities in a state-of-the-art sustainable building, delivered in two phases.
- Phase 1 focuses on the Experimental Physics Department, providing office space, laboratories and workshops for the Detector Technologies group.
- Phase 2 centralises the learning and training services, establishing the CERN Learning Centre; it will also accommodate part of the International Relations sector, a Council Room for the CERN Directorate, and a cafeteria.
Designed to achieve BREEAM Outstanding certification, B140 embodies CERN’s commitment to sustainable, highly energy-efficient design.
