CERN is committed to environmentally responsible research. To support this commitment and push forward SCE processes, SCE initiates a comprehensive workshop on Low-Carbon Construction on 26 and 27 September 2024.
The objective is to equip members of PPM and SAM with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop low-carbon technical specifications and promote sustainable practices for CERN’s site consolidation and construction projects.
In the scope of this innovative workshop, they will:
– Compare the different labels and their requirements
– Initiate a low-carbon labelling process
– Identify the new skills, studies and know-how required for low-carbon construction
– Recommend solutions based on renewable energies and other environmentally friendly practices
Low-carbon construction is a crucial component of transitioning to sustainable materials and practices, and energy-efficient structures.
