The CERN Service Desk’s ongoing efforts to automate and streamline the tasks are bringing results.
Among the thousands of requests submitted to the Service Desk every month, hundreds are to reset the EDH signature password: there were 4 633 requests on this matter in 2024 and no less than 1 177 in the first quarter of 2025.
Following a fruitful collaboration between SCE-SMS, IT and FAP, an effective solution has been put in place: from May 2025, the electronic document signature for EDH documents will be replaced by the NICE login.
Members of the personnel will no longer need to remember and type their EDH password, and requests relating to EDH password resets will no longer be a concern for the Service Desk. Well done!
