Artificial Intelligence (AI) is everywhere and is transforming workplaces globally. Various solutions and projects have emerged CERN wide and people have started using AI individually. Our Sector was committed to creating a consolidated, official solution. On Monday 31 March, a proposed AI strategy for our Sector called Enable, Experiment, Educate, was presented at the FHR sector meeting,
After investigating possible home-made solutions versus purchasing licenses for existing products, conducting a detailed benchmark in industry and other Organizations, and studying the advantages and disadvantages of each tool, the choice fell on ChatGPT in secure mode for CERN.
A pilot project is now underway. The Sector has up to 50 licenses to explore the many possibilities that AI could offer and to test scenarios where its use could help streamline our processes and offer gains in project management, tracking deliverables, cost and schedules, writing technical specifications, people/career management, or follow-up fame contracts, safety or security activities to name but a few.
A Technical Seminar will be organized on this very interesting topic. But should you need further details in the meantime or have interest in joining the pilot you can contact Lucy Lockwood.
