The Digital Cleanup Day aims at cleaning up our digital lives, just like we cleaned up our physical environment on the Tidy-up week or Computing Waste Collection. It seeks to reduce the digital data footprint and extend the lifespan of electronic devices.

According to a UN report, the number of connected devices worldwide is set to rise from 16 billion in 2023 to 39 billion in 2029. The challenge is to be able to continue using everyday tools sustainably. Cleaning unnecessary data, starting with the heaviest, is a concrete way of doing it.
