The heating of buildings in Meyrin and Prevessin sites is usually turned off after the “ice saints days” (cold snap in early spring) and most of the time after the 20th of May.
As part of the long-term sustainable strategy and energy saving policy, it has been decided not to wait for the ice-saints-days period which falls within the 11th and 15th of May, and to consider the central heating stop a little bit earlier.
The optimal stop date will be determined based on the weather forecast and, more importantly, on the night-time temperatures, but may occur early May if all conditions are met.
This would be good news in term of energy management since each day of an anticipated stop results in significant energy savings.
