The being-refurbished B60 presented an excellent opportunity for the Fire and Rescue service (HSE-FRS) to identify and mainstream the specific needs of the Main Building for the deployment of rescue services.
On the 7th of June, CERN’s firefighters carried out a rope rescue maneuver from B60. The simulation involved the evacuation of a victim on a stretcher from the exterior of the building utilizing a zip line installed on the façade. Pictures are available under this link.
By providing access to the construction sites and supporting these practical exercises, SCE contributes to maintain the security of infrastructures on CERN Campus.
