On Friday 8 November, IdeaSquare (I2) celebrates its 10 years anniversary. Many people who had been involved in the creation of this unique facility will join and share stories at the Globe. Among then, Sergio Bertolucci, former Director for Research and Scientific Computing at CERN, Marzio Nessi, former Technical Coordinator of the ATLAS experiment, and our Department Head Mar Capeans, who in 2013 helped to set up the very first I2 prototype space, which run for 1 year in B513 and allowed to design the I2 facility as we know it today.
IdeaSquare is the innovation space at CERN using collaborative methodologies, access to CERN expertise and cross-connectivity to ideate future solutions. It hosts among others the Green Village initiative, in which I2 and SCE teams work together to use the CERN campus as testbed for early-stage sustainable solutions or technologies to external partners.
