The Tunnel Asset Management (TAM) team in SCE-SAM is developing the underground consolidation plan to manage capital investments, repairs, and improvements in the underground infrastructures essential for CERN’s scientific programme.
The plan aims at ensuring safe long-term operation, resilience, sustainability, and to limit site depreciation through proactive maintenance, monitoring critical asset health indicators, and addressing safety concerns promptly. This will minimize accidents and disruptions, ensuring uninterrupted operation of the particle accelerators and beam lines.
Key objectives include data automation to facilitate the extraction of valuable insights from inspection data, empowering data-driven decision-making processes and enhancing the overall effectiveness of asset management. Automation enables the integration of predictive analytics into asset management practices, facilitating proactive maintenance and risk mitigation strategies.
This action plan will guide underground asset management in years to come.
