Events, conference, financial incentives, stands and workshops: enjoy a whole week exploring other mobility solutions.
Vacuum Day
On Friday 19 September, Mobility Week will conclude with Vacuum Day: a collective initiative encouraging everyone to limit their use of motor vehicles on campus. Together, let's experience a more fluid, calmer and more sustainable CERN.
Just like the vacuum that is essential for the accelerators to function, Vacuum Day creates a space free of cars. Throughout the day, staff are encouraged to walk, cycle, take the shuttle bus or carpool for their journeys.
This initiative is an invitation to rethink how we travel. Less noise, less traffic, more fluidity: a concrete glimpse of what a more peaceful and virtuous CERN could look like. By participating, everyone contributes to a simple collective gesture that is meaningful for the future of our mobility.
