As the building housing the library is heading towards its thirtieth anniversary, the need has arisen to modernise the space and adapt it for a new use of the premises. Therefore, the building will be completely refurbished in order to solve some technical problems related to ventilation and electricity, to improve the fire safety and the noise compliance, and also to improve the thermal isolation. In addition, the furniture will be completely renovated in order to create greater comfort for its users, more workspaces will be created within the library and the entrance will be completely rehabilitated. This renovation project is an example of the efforts to updating and protecting CERN's infrastructures while ensuring wellbeing and comfort to CERN’s community.
