Fiber displacement due to B777 construction

777

In the context of preparatory works for B777, a comprehensive strategy is required to adapt existing and future network’s installation.

At the intended location for building 777, existing buried cables and underground networks will be deviated to a safe distance from the new building and across a more appropriate routing. The initial studies have carefully considered the adjacent forest area.

To minimise disruption to Prévessin site operations and ensure continuity of services, it was decided to install redundant fibre optic as well as high voltage cables. The works to create a new trench will take place between August and October, being ready for cable pulling and re-connecting during the upcoming YETS between November and March 2025.

The PPM group, in collaboration with EN-EL, is mobilised to identify and execute the most effective solutions, considering the operations and gather the required site conditions to carry out the works for building 777 project all the way through completion.
