The completion of the civil works for the CO2 buildings SXSN1 at Point 1 and SXSN5 at Point 5 was celebrated on Tuesday 28 November 2023 at Point 5 in Cessy.

This significant milestone marks the conclusion of the construction of the buildings and other surface infrastructures necessary for the installation of future CO2 cooling systems for the ATLAS and CMS upgraded detectors in LS3. The celebration was an opportunity to thank the team of Marti, the contractor in charge of the works, members of SCE-PPM who coordinated the project from initiation to delivery under the leadership of Philippe Magnano, and representatives from the ATLAS and CMS experiments.

It is with great pride that SCE inaugurated these two buildings which have been handed over to technical groups that continue equipping then with the mechanical and electrical services and equipment required for the new CO2 cooling systems of ATLAS and CMS.
