As anybody knows now, it has been decided to exceptionally start the heating system a little later this year, given the current context relating to the energy crisis. The heating of buildings in Meyrin and Prévessin sites is usually turned on from October to May depending on the weather.

Every year the optimal start date is decided based on the weather forecast and more importantly the temperature during the night. As they are currently favourable, it has been decided to set the date of the 24 October as the Heating restart.

We continue to encourage everybody on site to avoid switching on individual electrical heaters, which would cancel out the objective of this exceptional measure: to ensure we save energy at CERN.
