Inauguration bus stop 66

On Thursday the 4th of May, two new bus-stops have been officially inaugurated at the entrance of the Prevessin site, one in each side of the road.

A representation of local authorities from surrounding communes arrived by bus at the Prevessin site for this event. The new bus stop was inaugurated by Aurélie Charillon, Mayor of Prevessin-Moëns, and Raphael Bello, Director of Finance and Human Resources at CERN, in the presence of the President of the Pays de Gex Agglomeration (Patrice Dunand) and the Vice President of Mobility of the Agglomeration, as well as the mayors and elected officials of the neighbouring communes (Ferney, Ornex et Saint Genis Pouilly).

This is part of the mobility initiatives that SCE department is working on. The continuous development of the public transport to reach CERN are key to reduce the impact of individual “thermal” vehicle commuting on the environment.  This new bus stop will facilitate arriving to destinations that were difficult to reach without a car, such as the Thoiry shopping centre and Geneva Airport, via Saint-Genis Porte de France. Other entities, such as the TPG and the Departmental Council Direction of roads have also collaborated to realize the construction of the bus stop and its equipment.
