CERN Library

The CERN Library was inaugurated in the present premises in 1957 and its current installations, the space organization, the shelves, and the furniture are to a wide extent still those from the beginning. The renovation project aims at offering a modern research library, a user-friendly place and a quiet and comfortable working environment conducive to learning and thinking.

The CERN Library is open 24/7/365 and serves a public of about 17,600 researchers, students, and staff, from the experimentalists, theorists, engineers, computer scientists, technician to administrative personnel, visitors, teachers, summer students, conference participants. It won't be closed during the renovation works and one of the challenges is to minimise their impact for the library users.

This flagship project is conducted by Vincent Ricodeau and Aracelli Alvarez (SCE-PPM). Looking forward to the splendid result of their work!
