The main civil works for this project have been completed, with only final touches remaining on the cladding and interior finishing. The installation of the entrance cladding is scheduled for July 2023.
The PCC was energized in mid-April, and the high voltage technical rooms are currently being operated by CERN's EN-EL group. The contractor is responsible for the operation of the building for a period of ten years. All major electrical, ventilation, and cooling equipment have been installed, along with 90% of the network services. Currently, the PCC is preparing for full system integrated tests after completing the ongoing individual tests of the sub-systems.
All the actions have been carried out under the supervision of SCE and IT. Inspections and controls are being performed by CERN’s technical groups, and the mechanical and electrical installations have undergone external technical surveillance by the contractors.
Lastly, the PCC is aiming to complete commissioning by November 2023 in order to achieve full operations before Christmas.
